How Protein Gives You Energy All Day Long

The low-carb diet is definitely one of the biggest diet fads in recent times and although it produces results, there are downsides. One of those downsides is the fact that without carbohydrates, your body starts to burn fat (which is good) and protein (which is bad).

This problem compounds itself when exercise is added to the mix because most people who are trying to lose weight work out pretty frequently. Without carbs as a quick energy source, your body has to struggle to use protein in this manner and this is what makes you feel droopy and flat.

Remember that if you are trying to lose weight and you cut down on carbs, make sure to consume enough protein because your body will turn to the protein reserves as an energy source throughout the day.
